[Sweet and Sour Soup - Canh Chua]

Serves: 2 to 3

  • 100g pineapple, thinly slice with the length of 7-8cm
  • 100g cabbage, cut into 4-6cm long
  • 1 tomato, split into six equal segments
  • 100g beansprout
  • 1 red chilli, thinly slice
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped finely
  • 1 tablespoons tamarind paste
  • 3 teaspoons vegetable stock
  • 500ml water
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 or 3 tablespoons oil

Cooking Method:

  1. Heat up a frying pan with oil until very hot. Add the garlic into the pan. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes until golden. Put it to one side.
  2. Add water, stock, pineapple and cabbage into a large pan. Bring to boil and cook for 2-3 minutes. Seasoning with the salt, sugar and tamarind. Add the tomato pieces and beansprout.
  3. When serving add the fried garlic, mints and chilli to the amount you prefer.
